6 IDEAS FOR CONTINUING THE JOURNEY
-------------------

What happens after Day 42? Here are some ways to continue this journey of awareness and compassion:

#1. Be Conversational. Begin having intentional conversations with local, regional, national and international leaders and volunteers who work with the poor. Talk to your pastor and members of your small group or Sunday school class.
....................................................................

#2. Be Courageous. Write a letter to yourself. Call it a “Courageous Covenant” or “affirmation” or “declaration” of what you want your life to stand for. Place the letter in a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Ask a friend to mail it to you in 90 days—as a reminder of your commitment to the poor.
....................................................................

#3. Be Creative. Day 38 suggests you wear your clothes two days in a row—to make poverty personal. Be creative and brainstorm other ideas to keep poverty “front and center” in your life, your prayers, your volunteer roles and your giving.
....................................................................

#4. Be Current. Ask organizations and your church for selected books on poverty and injustice. Subscribe to magazines that focus on the issue. Click here to read World Vision’s quarterly magazine.

....................................................................

#5. Be Consistent. Some people will “get it” after one Six-Week Quest. Others find that re-reading The Hole in Our Gospel and participating in, or leading, another Six-Week Quest will enrich their experience and understanding. What will help you consistently, month after month for the rest of your life, care deeply about God’s heart for the poor?

#6. Be Contagious! If God has given you a new heart for the poor, then continue to share your passion with others. Lead a Six-Week Quest three or more times a year. Click here to join the Facebook group, “The Hole in Our Gospel Six-Week Quest.”
