MEMORABLE ONE-LINERS FOR YOUR ELEVATOR SPEECH
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Here’s an “elevator speech” that you can adapt to make it your own.
Memorize and then rehearse it in front of the mirror or with a friend or
family member. Limit your speech to just 60 seconds or less. (We know. It’s hard!)

QUESTION: You sponsor a child with World Vision? Why?

ANSWER:
Thanks for asking. One day I heard this stunning statistic.
Imagine if you turned on CNN and learned that 100 jetliners
had just crashed—causing the deaths of over 26,500 people!
It’s unthinkable. The sorrow for family and friends would be devastating.

Guess what? Yesterday more than 26,500 children died of
preventable causes related to poverty. PREVENTABLE!
Today, another 26,500 will die. And another 26,500 will
die tomorrow—and every day this year.

I love what Mother Teresa said, “If you can’t feed 100
people, then just feed one.” So that’s what our family does.
We sponsor a six-year-old boy from Zimbabwe—his name is Suto.
And his birthday is the same birthday as my six-year-old grandson here.

We are so blessed to be helping—and our family is planning
to sponsor two more children yet this year.

I’m sure you care about the poor. How are you involved?
