GOD AND YOUR STUFF: 7 IDEAS

Here are seven ideas for addressing your stuff:

1) Sell something TODAY. Don’t wait until it’s convenient.
Do it now! Then write a check and mail it to your favorite charity.

2) Sell some stuff on eBay and tell eBay where you want
the money directed. Click here.

3) Invite a trusted friend to help you “thin out” your closets,
your garage or your attic. The operable question is, “If you
haven’t used this in a year, do you really think you’re going
to use it again soon? Could this help a hungry child?”

4) If a friend helps you—then turn-about is fair play. You get
to help your friend “thin out” his or her stuff!

5) Go online and check out the “clutter buster” websites to
learn hints and tricks for dealing with stuff—once and for all.

6) Do you need a more radical incentive? Place photos of
orphans and hungry people on all the stuff that you keep, but don’t use.

7) Click here to visit Amazon.com and purchase
God & Your Stuff: The Vital Link Between Your Possessions and Your Soul,
by Wesley K. Willmer.

DUST TO MUST
We’re not talking sacrificial giving yet. (So don’t feel too pious.) We’re just
challenging ourselves to trade the stuff that is collecting “dust” for cash so
we can help meet the “must” needs of others. But…you may want to read
Luke 3:11 again.
